It’s strange visiting a place that you’ve seen a million times on Instagram. And I don’t feel like that’s an exaggeration on the numbers when it comes to this spot.
Winter in Oklahoma is anything from warm and sunny to bitterly cold with snow flurries. Of course, if you wait five minutes it'll change.
The area gets it's name from the selenite gypsum in the ground, pieces catching the fading light like stardust, pieces of brightness caught by the earth.

I was looking through my backlog of photos and came across our trip to Big Bend. I was amazed to realize it's almost been a year since we were there.
There's something about the change in seasons that makes me want to take road trips, to bundle up in the car and just pick a direction and drive until the scenery is different.

There's a lot of personality here and I loved the unique headstones. I loved the little bits of story and reading about the person's life. One of my favorites had Give life the best that's in you for it's only a one night stand there are no repeat performances brought back by popular demand.
It's an incredible spot, one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen, and despite my fear of heights I enjoyed sitting at a safe distance and enjoying the view.
To me, it was just a sunset, not a particularly pretty one, nothing spectacular, just day slowly moving into night. But to him it was photograph worthy, to be oohed and aahed over, to be recorded and remembered as being spectacular.
This was our last cemetery stop on our trip in New Orleans and it turned out to be my favorite.
Dallas seems to be a city we end up in a lot. Usually we're passing through, on our way to or from some place else, places down dirt roads and hiking trails. But this time we set it as our destination and took the scenic way down.
At the base of the falls you can look up, into rushing water and sunlight, deafened by the roaring water.
Norman has a small town feel, maybe because of the collage, it seems that a lot of collage towns feel the same, but I always think of it as part of Oklahoma City for some reason.
